Support for the secondary school in Dalu during on ongoing drought
Due to an ongoing draught in Tana River County, we have decided to again support the secondary school in Dalu with food for this semester.
We drilled a well for the kindergarten and the community around it
We have recently expanded the water supply for the kindergarten and the neighbouring communities. In addition to the rain tanks at the school building, the Al-hadaad company has supported us with drilling a well to get water from underground during the dry seasons.
Our dining hall’s interior almost ready
The flooring for our new kitchen in the dining hall, as well as the doors and exterior are almost completed now. The dining hall will be an important gathering place for our children and parents and support the Watamu community.

After four years of travel restrictions and other barriers, we were finally able to reunite the full ElMaMa team (and introcue some new members as well).

Support for members of the Watamu community in need.
Through the work with our children we frequently come in contact with members of the Watamu community that are acutely in need. Particularly when the care of the children we take care of at ElMaMa is at stake, we step in to help the parents and caretakers provide for their children.
Food support for schools in Dalu and Gandini during the 2021 draught
During a major draught in 2021, we have started to support schools and families in communities outside of Kilifi county, particularly in the towns of Gandini and Dalu, in Tana river county further north.
